This Walk

Along the way there, we all walk
Slowly but surely trudging the path
The farther we go, the more it takes
The longer we take, the more it gives
This journey we hate, a trip we yet crave
This misery walk
This misery walk

Dig this no more, our heart cries out
Slowly though surely, we take the footholds
Don't make this home, our ardent plea
But pain and comfort live together
A place of rest yet without peace
This misery walk
This misery walk

A tunnel long: so dark, so deep
Many a turn all like dead ends
Yet not so, a point of light
A new desire, too much to lose
We reach for it, we choose to live
This faith walk
This faith walk
