Those Eyes

I look into those eyes
His eyes
What do I see?
A blank stare
A hopeless gaze
I see a life full of adventures
A life full of amazement
I see anger
Anger towards the meekest of creatures
Hatred for their faults
A misunderstanding of God guides him
A will to somehow correct the wrong powers his way
Compassion has left
And resentment has taken its place
Resentment for what?
For his mistakes?
For his own imperfections?
For what he has and doesn't want?
I see a narrow-minded fool trying to teach himself
I see nothing that can be done
There's a mind falling apart
In those eyes,
I see death itself
My only question:
Will those be my eyes someday?
