I hate these messages written upon the wall,
Of what to do & who to trust & where I fall
I hate these messages ingrained in my head,
Of what to say and how to act
They feel like poisoned lead
I hate this lawless order
These dishonest beliefs leave no trace
Telling me who I am and where's my place
I hate this unified allegiance
With no tolerance of contraband thought
And yet, have done naught,
For fear has kept me in my place
And now I must keep a still face
And hid my straying thoughts
