Thoughts of an Adopted Child

Here I sit staring out my windowpane
Wondering if you'd be back again
Days go by and birthdays pass
I wondered if our love would last
No birthday cards or Christmas gifts
Just wonders if my name ever passed through your lips
Decades flew by like battleships flying at warp speed
The day has finally come for you to see me succeed
Day by day our bond becomes stronger
So nowadays my mind doesn't wander
I have found my other half at last
Every moment spent with you is a blast
I am proud to say I finally found my mother
The love we have for each other
The bond we share cannot ever be tested by another
Thoughts of loneliness and self-worth have now come to cease
My heart is now at peace
For I no longer wonder
For I have finally found my mother
