Thoughts of Grandma

If I could send a little note
To Grandma up above
I'd write about the happy times
And fill it up with love

Fifteen years have came and went
Since that sad, yet glorious day
When her pain was gone and she flew to Jesus
Forever there to stay

An angel here on earth was she
Her face was always shining
Her family meant the world to her
But for her Saviour, she was pining

She always had a minute
To read us kids a story
And of course, when Grandma read us Dr. Seuss
It was never, ever boring

She made a special kind of glue
To paste our magazine cutouts
And when we'd get knocked off in 'sorry'
We weren't allowed to pout

I loved to go to Grandmas
It was always such a treat
I'd race inside for a great big hug
And in the kitchen we would meet

Although I was only just a child
And its been so long ago
There's days my heart could break apart
Because I miss her so

But her memory I will always cherrish
And like her, I strive to be
When the day comes that I cross that shore
Her beautiful face I'll see

Yes, if I could send a little note
To Grandma up above
I'd write about the happy times
And fill it up with love
