Through Her Eyes

We look through her eyes
She remembers her parents
Who died in the fire
She remembers her older brother
Who committed suicide days later
She remembers her stranger uncle
Who took her in and beated her
She remembers the bag she packed
Which had razors and knives
She remembers the road she fled on
Which lead to the lake
She remembers the man in the car
Who offered her a ride
She remembers the cool clean cut
Which she marked on her throat
She remembers pushing herself into the waters
But now she remembers nothing.
