Thumbing It

Grungy pants and matted hair
On the side of yet another dust road
Trying to find your way
To a place where you thought love was once true
Here comes a car right on cue

Whisking you away to a new adventure
Hoping this time you find what is is your looking for
Not knowing the love you sought was inside
Waiting for a revelation of the mind
Of which you alone could find

No more hen pecking across this nation
Time to rebuild broken relations
Brunt bridges and crumbled roads
Remember to stay humble
Now you have found your way
