TIDES

By

Have you ever faced a wave
you knew could knock you down.
Knowing this, you took a stand
not giving any ground.
If duel, we must, with darkness
to stay within the light.
From darkness we must learn
the ways he hides while in our sight.
For in the deepest shadows lie
our crown of victory.
If we emerge we've truly learned
what it is, to be, free.
