Time

Late have I loved you
I wasted so much time
The Great I Am
Took His time
For all things happen
In His own time
He who supercedes all time
He patiently waited for me
As I chased the stars
And scoffed at the sun
He loves me in spite of myself
Loves me with an everlasting love
The depths of which I cannot fathom
Why do I still betray Him?
So I press on
In my human weakness
With the hope that I will be united with Him
He who is Eternity

This Poems Story

I am a disabled veteran and a Roman Catholic. After a bout in prison I knew I had to do something different. I started attending Mass daily and embraced my faith. I found my parish is very accepting despite my past. The priests are very supportive. I have had good examples of what holiness is and I have grown close to God. He is a loving Father and my best friend. Once you truly understand how much God loves you, you can do anything.
