Time Capsule

By

I felt my way through a threshold,
Where it led I could not see,
Til' a beam of light
Brought an image in sight,
Of a dreamer exactly like me.

The distance moved toward me
In small steps of courage,
The unforeseen lay ahead;
Here in the future, I stumbled on something
I had buried and left for dead.

From the grave site of dry bones,
Under years of abandon,
A thought rose up out of the ash;
Could my dream live again,
As when it began,
To finish my unfinished past?
