Time Reaper

By Nelia

Gloom lingers now
Haunted corridors
Framed with faces
Of years past
A secret wind whispers
I devour the draft

Every now and again
I wipe the frame, collected dust
Skip around halls
Decked with boughs so holy
Fall now, fall now
Oh grandfather, quiet now
Slow with age
Or is it I
Who will turn your hands

Not mine this place is
Scours my veins
Scorches cells
Red eyes, stuffed nose
You have entered the grieving stage
And yet you blame me?

Grandfather croaked
Stroke midnight
I am the keeper
And this is my craft.
