The days go by slowly without you
Sometimes hours pass
And thoughts of you are absent
Then something simple occurs

A traffic light changes color
It stops me in my tracks
Sitting alone encased in metal and glass
I fall into a deep pit of emotion
Trying to capture our last moments

Me trying to commit you to memory
Your face
The feel of your skin
Your smell
Trying to make sense of your death

The light is green
The cars behind grow impatient
With my meandering and honk
I continue on my way
Until I remember you
