It overcomes me,
like a wave of emotions.
I can't seem to concentrate.
Time is moving slowly when in reality it travels fast.
The pressure is unbearable,
feels like every day you're getting judged.
By teachers, parents, students.
Test after test.
Days upon days.
Feels like you never get a break,
never a chance to stop and catch your breath.
Crying your eyes out because no one cares, no one listens.
They believe they are doing what's best but they don't know.
They don't know what it's like to be me.
They don't know what I've been through, what I'm going through.
Since day one you are known as a number before you even had a name,
and when you're gone you name and voice will echo in those minds.
What about today? What about right now?
Choose wisely they say,
your future lies in your hands.
