Time’s Tally

By Vin

The sun that rose on the day that fell,
silence was the law for death was upon us.

They prayed for her soul,
they cried for her death,
but her loss was his alone.

Fifty years vanished beneath the ground,
fifty more did he have to live.

When the time was right to start anew,
he did not hesitate for death was gentle in his ways.
