To a Better Day

A rose petal field on a backlit sky
The sun makes way for the night
The day says so long to the setting sun
The daytime takes its flight
Too late to think of the day that's gone
And what I should have done
Too late to watch time that has passed
And ponder at things undone
No time to change what might have been
Or rise to meet the task
The time to think of yesteryear
All gone now dead and past
The sun goes down, the moon comes up
The stars light up the sky
This thing called time still takes its toll
And life just passes by
I wish sometimes to start again
A life with all things bright
To change the life that I have lived
In this world I live tonight
It's only time and a new day comes
I start a new day fresh
I dream tomorrow and a better life
Much better that the rest
