To Be Human

We can be servants....
only to lose our sense of identity.
We can be artists....
only if our creative juices aren't bottled up.
We can be happy....
only if personal control doesn't drive us.
We can be giants....
only to die from the sun--under man's magnifying glass.
We could be Gods....
only if greed and selfishness weren't a virtue.
We are only human....
carried in the grooves of the great Cyclop's sandal.
