To Keith, My Beloved

Windows to the soul
Or doors locked against the pain
Shadowing the soul within

Until one comes with the key
To unlock the doors
And set the soul free
From its painful prison

And when that one comes
Offering a love never known
Then a soul's freedom flight
Becomes the sweetest ecstasy

The purest joy so intense
Our mortal bodies can scarce
Contain that longing for expression
Words are meaningless

Thank you, Keith, for setting me free
I live again because you had the key
You chased away the shadows
And you loved me
