To love somebody.

I know how it is to love somebody so much, that their every flaw
Is just a cruel trick of the light,
Their every raised voice, only an amplified
Sweet nothing.

I know how it is to crave somebody’s touch,
So that every bruise, bite and burn
Is just a carefully handmade gift,
An expression of their lust.

I know how it is to adore another so completely,
That you cannot see yourself anymore,
Only a murky mirrored version through the eyes
Of the person who sees you love them,
Too much

To be safe, you need them – don’t you?

I know how it is to love somebody.
