To Molly

Have we neglected to renew our love,
to express feelings time has made habit?
Have the needs of living life so encompassed us,
we no longer hear our own hearts?
We are as two trees growing side by side
with roots so intertwined
that they are separate but inseparable.
Your heart beats on my chest
Your pain cries out upon my lips
When I look at the world, I see it through
your eyes.
No matter if the beauty of the skin fades
As we pass beyond our springtime.
My mind holds you constant,
My love unashamed and enduring.
Let us again open ourselves to each other,
to remember the joys and pains of shared feelings,
the special meaning of a touch, of eyes meeting.
Let us face ourselves, together.
