To My Daughter

When day is done
The setting sun
And twinkling stars bejewel the sky.
I have a chance to sit and rest
And count the ways that I am blessed.
The day has passed
With busy tasks
That occupied my thoughts and time.
My gratitude for evening peace
Is welcomed now by sweet release.
The peace of mind
That I now find
In contemplating God's great love
Is doubled when I go to peep
At my four children fast asleep.
