To Remember What Once Wasn’t

the smoke after the black
the smell after the rain
to forget yet remember what the minds reclaim
the seconds to times beginning
replaying the beginning from the ending
to see air, black and white
the apology for the fight caused tonight
from the see-through mirror
yet windows off line and unclear
from earths opposite rotation
to the sun and moon's rhetorical reconciliation
once was what wasn't what is our last
yet to remember what once wasn't
the future before our past
