To The Stars…

To the stars I made a wish,
A wish – true and pure,
But incomplete it’s left…
Now I look at them -
The unchanged stars twinkling,
indifferent to my pains.
but so are the clouds,
So are the leaves,
Responding only to the zephyr
and stealing the moon from my eyes…
...perhaps, they better do.
For that reflection
Will soon be distorted –
Again.

This heart inside,
beating for some love
I believe will quieten down – sigh!
For every fawn preyed upon,
Gives way to death –
Sooner or later.
