To the Woman With My Mother’s Ca

Title:To the Woman With My Mother's Case Sitting on Her Desk
Are we not the Same?
You and I?
The same blood of man
Both with body and mind

Do we not both Dream?
You and I?
A feeling that rises like the sun
But destroys us when it dies

Do we not both Hope?
You and I?
A feeling that rises like the sun
But destroys us when it dies

Do we not both Work?
You and I?
Our persistence never failing
All to see our children fly

Are we not both Americans?
You and I?
Though you born in this nation
And I in another

Open your eyes. It's sitting right in front of you.
