to the youth i lost

to my kid cousins,
who are only young,
who teach me what youth is
who just want to have fun,
continue to watch your family movies
and play your schoolyard games
for all of this will turn from memories
into flickering flames
and one day you will look up at the ceiling
left reeling,
from your heartbreak or the heart you broke
or your bad grade
or when you feel like a sick joke
and think what happened to my youth
what happened to those days
what happened to my innocence
why am i going through this phase?
who understands?
well, i do,
and i always be here
and if you ever need to ease your worries
i will be near.
