Toxic Romance

You and I,
are different, and difficult.

We don't see the same
We don't feel the shame

You fight for butter
while I do for blood

Some part of you dies every other day
while some part of me cries every other night

Your need and my greed
together sing in silence

Our spirits, drunk and dancing.

Hand in hand, we walk

In the holy bonds of my anger
And your anhedonia

We're not stuck with each other.
We're stuck within ourselves.

We won't creak
We don't break.

We chase and tease
kill and kiss

We hunt and prey
We haunt and pray

You and I,
are human and inhuman.
