By Pushpam

There is a music in metals clanging together
Friends I am on-board a train,
The world is dashing past me in opposite direction
Sometimes I compete with automobiles
Sometimes I race with birds and air-crafts,
The cessation of train seems an impossibility
As if it is in search of the convergence of tracks,
Hundreds of individuals and families on picnic
Oh! what a jollification
In expectation of the destination, coming closer,
I am tired of counting electric poles
And I have relished tea at every intermediate station,
As I look outside window, I am perplexed
With the vast endless stretch of green agricultural land
Spanning horizon to horizon-
The world that feeds me is so big,
Leaves me in awe
And respect for the inhabitants of this world
This is the lesson I learn
Every time I travel in a train.
