Transformation

We wasted and consumed,
Stayed clung to our smartphones
While we refused to hear
The wailing of our only home.

The air was getting bleaker,
But it was too much to lift our heads up
From the scrolling and clicking
To see the gloomy sky above us.

We tortured and destroyed,
Filled our lives with junk and disease
All while the earth was pleading
“Please let me breathe!”

Someday we will realize
The irreversible and harsh reality,
When we will see with our own eyes
The shocking transformation of our towns and cities.
