Translucence of the Runningwheel

If only I could halt the gears of my mind,
To enjoy the relief that slumber would bring,
And leave all these anxious thoughts behind.

Unfortunately, I have become entwined,
Like resin, these worries are bonded to my soul.
If only I could halt the gears of my mind.

I search and suffer, but I have yet to find,
A perfect poison to subdue my disposition,
And leave all these anxious thoughts behind.

Like a madman fixated, I watch the time,
Hours become minutes, darkness becomes daylight,
If only I could halt the gears of mind.

Like a sadist, my subconcious is so unkind,
I'll exhaust myself to no avail,
And leave all these anxious thoughts behind.

Oh mercy, to me could you be inclined,
To grant my soul much needed peace,
If only I could halt the gears of my mind,
And leave all these anxious thoughts behind.
