Trapped

Trapped inside my own little shell,
No one to turn to,
No one to tell.
My heart still beats,
But it hurts like hell.
I am growing fond of the dark.
I feel no pain,
I feel no spark.
Day turns to night,
My soul turns to ice.
I'm losing myself, I realize.
I am a prisoner
Stuck in my cell.
This shell of a body
Isn't doing so well.
Within myself I am bound.
No wonder I am coming unwound.
Held captive by my fears and pride,
Anxiety causes me to hide.
I'm too afraid to face the day,
So in my little shell I'll stay.
Trapped inside my own little shell,
With no one to turn to,
No one to tell.
My heart still beats,
But it hurts like hell.
