TREES

The light green leaves spoke to me
Hands of branches reached into the sky
Mother Nature was asking me to escape
Look into her beauty and forget
Maybe it was good timing,
But I opened up as the flowers were blossoming
I thought happy endings were gone forever more
Then Mother Nature taught me differently
A dark, night sky was a backdrop for the light green leaves
A purple, stormy layer of clouds was a background for the hands of branches
I just saw the beauty
Flowers with pedals to be blown away into wishes came up abundantly after the rain
Spring came year after year
Though I’d never faced life’s challenges and emerged triumphantly
The flowers full of wishes and light green leaves told me what to do
The hands of branches showed me a new World
I was re-born
Into a child of redemption
For Mother Nature to speak to me
To conquer the winter’s monsters
All I had to do was look up into the sky
