Trivialities

The eyes of a beast capture attention
Both parties arrest their activities
Trite are the concerns of the four-legged
For the two-legged serve amenities
Give me love! Give me love! Give me love!

It was stolen long ago – I need you;
Responsibility made me feel, feel
As if Destiny ushered my purpose
To the foreground of my melting picture.
Where! Oh Where do sleeping dogs lie?!

Chimes ring outside; their wings brush air aside,
Trees welcome them home – disappearing act;
I turn my gaze back to my companion,
Yea, our concerns are not that different.
Give me love! Give me love! Give me love!
