True Beauty

That the clarity of water
could cast a slight shadow
on a lowly human's hand
with the mere passing of light,
this is true beauty.

That sometimes even
the quietest of people
are considerate enough
to speak out against cruelty,
this is true kindness.

That a young child
would find an injured wolf
yet despite the danger
deem it innocent,
this is true compassion.

That you would see
a torn girl like me
with a broken past
and pull her back together with your presence,
this is true love.
