True Envy

That girl.
You know, the one you dropped everything for.
A life you wish you had.
You gave up on your dreams, as she lead you to extremes.
You lost yourself, knowing her more than you know you.
Her eyes shined with the glow taken from your own.
You fed off of her drama, her angst,
Her few words at early hours.
Out of sight, out of mind never occurred here.
You ask yourself, in your alone time,
"Why did I give up, for this?"
Because she's everything you aren't.
What a change from typical days, if you had her life.
The grass is always greener...
Her grass was gold to you.
Until you realized, that she can't come home like you can.
A soul forever meant to wander.
To find where she belongs
In a world of spontaneity and uncertainty
As you rest in the comfort of safety.
You two really are different, aren't you?
