The truth was there
I could see it in his eyes
The words were floating around
But got lost within his mouth
He whispered love in my ear
That came straight from his heart
He allowed me the chance to swim
Along corners of his soul

But it was too real, too loud
When you can feel the moonlight
And hear the deepest truth
Where you can see the place stars start
And tiptoe where the earth ends
The realization hit us
Like a river consumes the earth
We stood together vulnerable and exposed

In between the moon and the sea
We could swallow the fear
Waves drowning out expectations
I felt his desire there
To turn the sun my direction
To dry the salty rain upon my cheek
But instead he found solace
On the edge of darkness and misery
