Truth in lies.

"Work hard for your dreams and you will achieve them",
They said.
But how am I supposed to fly,
If they cut my wings with the hateful lies they spread?

Everyone seems so amicable, altruistic and convivial,
But are so vastly ignominious,
When they unveil.

"Alluring, captivating", they speak.
"Reprehensible, shameful", they whisper.
How must I honour strength,
When I know that this play of depravity,
Will decimate me.
And nevermore shall I heal.

How is it possible for such cruelty to exist,
With no prestige and benevolence,
to support the balance?

Why must evil thrive with such abundance,
Yet hope diminish,
For being so rare and redundant?
