Trying to Escape

The shores gasp for air
as they try to escape from
the constant abuse they endure.
For each breath they manage to take
the hope they have begins to show,
only to be washed away by jealousy.
While water wants the solidity of sand,
all sand wants is the freedom of water.
Unbeknownst to both though, that is why
each of them suffer. While water races
to the land it catches sand, creating a shore.
We each know wet sand doesn't blow in the wind,
so when it gets wet it looses the little freedom it had.
As for water, getting sand wet doesn't make it a solid.
