Turning The Page

She takes a hit, holds it in
blows out a cloud drenched in sin.
Heart starts to slow, pain fades away
ridding the thoughts that cause her dismay.
Feeling so high but then she begins to frown
because everyone knows what goes up must come down
So she ingests a little more to fight off the pain
sadly the demons inside will return once again
The drugs only cover how she really feels
all those thoughts that she hates, the substances wont kill
A temporary fix, that's all it will do
she's know this though, and feels like a fool.
One day she hopes she can fix this mess
but getting clean will really put her to the test.
Knows she can do it if she works hard enough
so stay strong my dear, the road ahead will be tough.
Always been an addict, but that soon is to change
this is the beginning of a new chapter, time to turn the page.
