Twin Twenty

2020 will go to history.
What remains are stories
Stories left for generations to read
And see how life changed
In this ominous year of twin twenty

Year 2020 has not been kind to humanity
People realize the weakness of humans in the battle with a virus
Microscopic in size
Invading the globe, perishing more than a million lives
Millions lost jobs

Shelter in place, in quarantine
Our look is to science to defeat the invisible enemy
We look to a day we laugh again, see smile on a face
Hug, shake hands, children play with no circle around in the grass
The day we celebrate, have parties and go to the beach with no social distancing

In this pandemic our heroes are care takers, doctors, nurses and the people who work hand in hand Leaving their own to save ours
We are all in this together
In creation all humans are equal in the essence of their being
Regardless of race, color of skin, wealth, rank or position
