Two Cans and a String

If speaking is just
Two cans and a string,
Each person a can
And each word a fiber,
Then with you
I want the line cut.
Because your words
Are a simple twine
Too weak to hold
A button to a coat.
Your can is dented,
Making my string warped,
Our understanding perverted
By your consumption
Of the strings of others
Which you allow
To be sealed inside you
In a mechanized process
Devoid of human contact;
The end product
Of a cog in a factory.
