Two Months

Two Months
the most exciting times of our lives.
The first few weeks were so exciting
You'd smile and play
it brought tears to our eyes.
The second month was exhausting.
Learning to take care of a baby.
Mom had to get to work
Honestly, dad was lazy.
The sun rises
same as any other day
I walked into your room
but it didn't feel the same.
I tried to wake you up.
I tried to roll you over.
You were blue and already bleeding
so I tried to pull you closer.
But when you didn't open your eyes,
I knew, I knew,
that you were leaving.
I know its not your fault.
I know its not any one else's.
But how I long for closure.
Because my heart has melted.
