Two Roads Ahead

Two roads ahead:
A dirt road and a tar road,
A bumpy road and a smooth road,
Clouds hovering over the dirt road,
Sun shining on the tar road,
A sign stands next to the tar road saying,
“Beware: Dangers Ahead!”
I figured there was a mistake and,
The sign should be next to the dirt road.
Being ignorant and foolish in mind,
I took what seemed like the easy way.
Soon, I discovered that I’d taken the wrong way,
But I could not find my way back.
I would be lost forever.
Away from the real world,
Away from the right road,
I would feel pain instead of relief.
Depression instead of joy,
But the blame is on me
For not taking the dirt road.
