Two Worlds

I was a dark soul,
riddled with disease and pain.
I bled out my poison,
just to try to feel again.

You were a sunburst,
light embodied in a young man.
Your smiles infected everyone,
until they felt whole again.

But the thing about light,
is that it's blindingly true.
The darkness cannot reside with it.
I cannot exist with you.
