Two Years Ago Today

Two years ago I lost you,
and I didn't know what to think.
You were here, then gone
within seconds of a blink.
I saw you that morning,
with a big smile on your face.
Little did I know,
it would be a heart's race.
I remember Dad's pain
as the tragedy struck home-
he had no emotion
as if he was stone.
I know it wasn't your fault,
because there's a reason for everything you do.
You wouldn't put me in pain,
if you didn't have to.
