Unconditional

By Leolou

To my beautiful daughter
Who is working to get better
I bet you think it's really funny
I'm writing you this letter

People come and People go
But you've always been my stable
I just hope you realize
I'm here forever as I'm able

Alot of things have happened
Both good and bad in life
But I feel that this is how one learns
By experiencing peril and strife

I cannot say I get it
Or that I understand
Except the medication part
Which I know like the back of my hand

OH I FEEL GREAT I'LL STOP MY MEDS
I KNOW I'LL BE JUST FINE
The problem is your insight
Which bipolar thinks divine

Going through the cycles
The ups and downs will be
It's something as a family
We all need to learn to read

This by no means will be easy
In fact it's already been tough
But whatever it is we have to do
It never feels like enough

I truly hope we find the combo
Of meds to help you live
A healthy happy successful life
Because you have so much you can give

This Poems Story

My 32 yo daughter had a full psychosis presentation episode of bipolar. 2 months away in hospitals. We were so afraid SHE would never be back as she refused medication for weeks!
