Uncover My Mask

So you wanna uncover my mask?
Well that will be quite the task.

It's so engraved, paved in my mind, like a cave.
Screech! Like nails on a chalkboard.
My thoughts break brutally and try to be brave.
But keeping them locked up is the best way to keep everyone safe.

My laughs say hello as I enter a room
They hide the anger and form into a glume
My comments flow like a peaceful waterfall
Soundless speaking of success and satisfaction

I can't figure out how I'm happy and sad at the same time
Those thoughts are swept as I embrace my prime
Like a shimmering light bulb in a dark hall
My heart leaps for happiness that might come before the next downfall.

So you wanna uncover my mask?
At this point, all you have to do is ask.
