Under The Shadow


Earth crumbles under fagged soles,
Long loose garments stray behind,
The form of a man lost within the hunched creature,
Silence as he makes his path,

They gaze in vivid fear upon his stagger,
His face concealed allowing not a bit of sympathy,
All but his dangling chains feel safe to approach him,
Under the shadow he walks his path,

Breath stops while hearts end years of beats,
Always at the end he rest clutching your worth,
But dirt you are and will become,
You follow him to the end,

I no longer fear his hand,
For time has come to sleep,
Under the shadow we walk,
Under the earth I soon will l lie
