Unintentional Air Traveler

I gave my cat a giant, red balloon
And told him just to wait a little while.
"I'll be out of the market very soon,
So just go sit over on that box pile."

He waited there for hours so patiently,
A fluffy statue stationed near the door,
Until he saw a squirrel run up a tree-
A squirrel so big he just could not ignore.

He set about to stalk that fat squirrel down,
But then his great, big balloon caught a breeze!
It sent that poor cat flying over town,
Over the market and over the trees.

I can't say when or where his voyage stops.
That all depends on when his balloon pops.
