Unrequited Love

Moonbeam dances across the path,
Entwined with Shadow's lovely gracefulness.
These two unlikely partner, one dark, one light,
Skip and dance this moonlit night.

"Oh! My fair, my love declare!" cries Shadow
As she waits for loves caress.
Moonbeam reaches, ever softly, towards Shadow dear,
Never quite to reach his darling, as her figure melts and disappears.

Shadow dances on and on, just out of reach of Moonbeam's grasp.
All night long, the two dance on, their love compels them so.
Until, at last, the Sun awakens, and does bid the two to go.
