Unspoken

I buried a friend,
A stranger I knew,
With so much I needed to mend,
And so much I needed to do.

I locked up my heart,
I locked up my care,
To forget your small part,
And forget you weren't there.

I hid all my worries,
I hid all my tears,
And they got easier to bury
As days turned to years.

I remember the hate,
I remember the fog
That I can't dissipate
Since I'm chained like a dog.

And I buried a friend,
A stranger I knew,
With so much I can't mend,
And so much I can't do.
