Unsteady

By

When I heard in March, I became unsteady.

All my friends were stuck at home.

We were restricted to FaceTimes and Zoom calls.

The days became long and the nights went by quick.

Online school was new and we all learned how to find
the correct answers for our assignments.

Tests became easier as life became harder.

Isolation affected our lives and our thoughts.

More people became victims of police brutality as COVID
rates climbed higher.

Protests and riots lined the streets to fight against
injustice and racism.

Even as we grew further apart because of COVID, we grew
more together to fight against what we believe in.

Through all of this, we learned that good comes from
the bad when we least expect it.
